Hey there! Due to a sudden family emergency, I will be temporarily taking time off from this blog. I apologize for the inconvenience and will hopefully post soon. Thank you.
HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS WITH SEA SALT AND ROSEMARY
Potato chips are a classic. They're a snack, barbeque side component, and appetizer all in one. Creating your own and tossing it with sea salt and rosemary make it the ideal comfort food for any occasion.
Ingredients: 2 potatoes (any type is fine), 1-2 tablespoons of rosemary, 1-2 tablespoons of sea salt
1/ Using a mandolin, slide your potatoes down the cutter into several slices.
2/ In a pan, fry your potato slices until golden brown (dark brown is fine around the edges).
3/ Drain the oil off of your potato slices and toss in rosemary and sea salt.

HOW TO: DEFINE YOUR STYLE
Defining your style is one key factor to always consider whether you're out shopping. Here's my guide to defining your style....
1/ Pin, pin, pin. Pinterest is one of my most used blogging tools and actually one of my favorite social networking/media sites. Create a board and pin things that appeal to you. Once you're done, take a look back at what you pinned and analyze what it is that you really like about each image. From there, you can list any characteristics or traits that you like.
2/ Consider your personality. Determining whether you're an outgoing/shy/adventurous/preppy person can help you figure out what your style truly is.
3/ Gather up all the characteristics/traits and come up with your style. Example: I have a feminine, streamlined, and modern style with a vintage twist.

MINI BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS
When I first tasted these banana chocolate chip muffins, it took me back to my childhood. When I was little, my favorite pastry used to be Entenmann's Banana Crunch cake. Their recipe really did let the bananas shine and the chocolate drizzle on top made it even better. I used this recipe, but added my own chocolate chips.

HOW TO: CREATE A CAKE STAND
I've been experimenting more with baking this year, so I thought it was time to buy my own cake stand. To my surprise, cake stands are really expensive, so I decided to create my own. I bought a candlestick holder from the thrift store as a base for the cake stand and a big, white, simple plate to hold the cake. It's seriously easy and not too pricey either.
Materials: Candlestick holder, big plate, and super glue
1/ Flip your plate over and let it sit on a flat surface. Apply a generous amount of super glue around the edge of the candlestick holder.
2/ Center the candlestick holder and press it down carefully on the back of the plate.
3/ Carefully flip the cake stand over and let it dry for an hour or two. Don't move the candlestick holder around to test to see if it is dry.
